Hiding Place

That silly Easter Bunny even hid an egg on one of our Subaru vehicles!

Tooling Around with a Forester

Last summer, my wife and I decided to embark on a shared dream of living off grid. For six months, we slept in the back of our Subaru Forester while we engaged our hands and bodies in the building of a tiny cabin on five undeveloped acres in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Colorado – a region we both love and respect. Neither of us had ever built anything before, except I’d just built a toolbox.

Over the course of those six months, our Subaru was not only our “home,” sleeping quarters, refuge (from the elements when they proved too much), but also our most relied upon tool. We hauled wood in the Subaru for the timber-framing of the cabin, crushed rock for our foundation, corrugated metal for our roof, and sand and clay for mixing adobe. And, too, the Subaru never faltered – over hills, through the dusty valleys, over deeply rutted muddy roads, and so on.

Thank you, Subaru, for being a part of our vision.
