All 2012 model-year Subaru vehicles received the 2012 Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Subaru is the only manufacturer with the distinction of earning awards for every model it builds, and it has done so for three consecutive years.
A Top Safety Pick recognizes vehicles that do the best jobs of protecting people in front, side, rear, and rollover crashes in IIHS testing.
Tom Doll, executive vice president and COO, Subaru of America, Inc. commented: “The IIHS reinforces to our customers that Subaru maintains the highest standards to produce vehicles that are fun to drive, durable, reliable as well as safe.”
Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA), received two manufacturing awards during the 2011 American Manufacturing Strategy Awards (AMSA) meeting in November 2011. The AMSA committee presented SIA with the Green Manufacturing Award. In addition, SIA was inducted into the AMSA Hall of Fame.
The Green Manufacturing Award is presented to companies that best demonstrate unparalleled performance in environmental manufacturing. Recipients must illustrate success in cutting their carbon footprints and converting green manufacturing into a business opportunity.
Hall of Fame members are chosen based on a company’s improvements to quality, successful and sustainable lean programs, green methods of manufacturing, and employee motivation and recognition.
