Since 1996, Bike Works has been actively recycling and rebuilding bikes and putting them back into the Columbia City community of Seattle, Washington. In 2012, 4,000 bikes were given to Bike Works though donations, waste management transfer station collection, and bike drives.
Repaired bikes through Bike Works programs are distributed to nonprofits, foster youth, bike shops, and adult programs. In addition they send bikes abroad through other community programs.
