AAAS/Subaru Science Books & Film Competition


SOA and partner American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) sponsored the annual AAAS/Subaru Science Books & Film competition. Awards for 2010 were handed out at the AAAS Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, in mid-February. Recipients included:

  • Living Sunlight: How Plants Bring the Earth to Life, by Molly Bang and Dr. Penny Chisholm – Children's Science Picture Book category
  • The Frog Scientist, by Pamela S. Turner – Middle Grades Science Book category
  • Invisible Kingdom: From the Tips of Our Fingers to the Tops of Our Trash, Inside the Curious World of Microbes, by Idah Ben-Barak – Young Adult Science Book category
  • Author Robert Gardner – Lifetime Achievement in Hands-on Science Writing
