Legacy = Value

Across the entire line, the Subaru Legacy represents great value for anyone interested in a mid-size sedan. The 2.5i, 2.5GT, and 3.6R models deliver economy, performance, and luxury at far more reasonable prices than most competitors. Plus, the safety and handling provided by Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is a standard feature in all models. (Keep that in mind when making comparisons.)

The Legacy 2.5GT bears emphasis here. It's one of our favorites, much of which is due to its high level of performance. That has been demonstrated in part by 5.6-second 0-60-mph4 times. Available only with a 6-speed manual transmission, the 2.5GT is an ideal grand touring machine. It cruises like a luxury sedan, but handles like a smaller car.

When comparing the Legacy 2.5GT with just about any competitor, it comes out on top – not only on performance specifications, but on price as well. Remember to compare this vehicle by its performance, not necessarily by its rated horsepower. Also, be sure to note purchase price.

All around, the Legacy models deliver astounding fuel economy (2.5i with Lineartronic CVT [Continuously Variable Transmission] – and Symmetrical All- Wheel Drive!), competitive pricing, turbocharged (2.5GT) or 6-cylinder (3.6R) performance, and spacious interior.
