Subaru/ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year

Shop Foreman Toby Costa of Maita Subaru in Sacramento, California, took home the First Annual Subaru/ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year award in early February. Costa and 86 finalists for the award were judged on scores on National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) tests, on-the-job excellence, community service, and other factors.

 

Costa has more than 30 years experience as a technician, and he has been a Subaru Senior Master Technician since 1992. For winning the award, he received plaques from ASE and from Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (parent company of Subaru of America) as well as a check for $1,000 for outstanding service from Subaru of America.

 

The nine runners-up for the award were:

  7. Jared Kalina, Power Subaru of Scottsdale (Scottsdale, Arizona)
  8. Anthony DiSalvo, Ganley Subaru Aurora Inc. (Lakewood, Ohio)
  9. John Ochsner, Subaru of Sioux Falls (Sioux Falls, South Dakota)

 

 

Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc., (SIA) Presents Environmental Awards

 

Based in Lafayette, Indiana, SIA marked its sixth anniversary of achieving zero landfill status by holding its annual SIA Environmental Stewardship Awards in May. Local individuals and nonprofit organizations were recognized for their stewardship efforts. These included the Rensselaer Central High School Marketing Class; Keep Stockwell Beautiful, Inc., in a joint effort with Cole Elementary School; and Larry Rose, president of Tree Lafayette. 

 

 

 Subaru Sponsors Philadelphia International Flower Show

 


 

The Philadelphia International Flower Show took place at the Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) Convention Center in early March. Subaru of America – the premiere sponsor of the event – displayed the Subaru Japanese Tea House, which featured a towering waterfall, koi pond, and bonsai and cherry trees. Also on display were co-branded, pink-and-white 2010 Subaru Forester and Outback models. Both exhibits were the work of award-winning Ledden Palimeno, a local landscape architectural company.
