For the past five years, Subaru of America, Inc. has donated $25 million to a range of national charities through its “Share the Love” event. For each new Subaru sold between November 21, 2013, and January 2, 2014, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of five national charities – now including the National Park Foundation – and a local one designated by the retailer.
As the official charity of America’s national parks, the National Park Foundation is thrilled to be named a Subaru “Share the Love” recipient.
“Thanks to generous partners like Subaru, the Foundation is able to make lasting positive impacts to help protect and enrich our national parks in communities across the country,” said president and CEO Neil Mulholland. “Together, we can encourage people to get out and enjoy the outdoors, all the while protecting and preserving our nation’s most treasured places.”
The National Park Foundation will use the donations to enrich and support our country’s more than 400 national parks.
“We will apply the funds to our national park programs that have the greatest need at the time of the donation,” Mulholland said. “We anticipate that the first $250,000 will be applied to the National Park Foundation’s ‘America’s Best Idea’ program, which connects diverse, underserved, and underengaged populations throughout the United States with their national parks.”
“Both Subaru and America’s national parks inspire adventure and exploration,” Mulholland added. “Subaru offers reliable, durable, and innovative vehicles to explore all that the world has to offer with consideration for the environment. Our parks offer places to explore, hands-on learning environments, and unforgettable experiences.”
