Moving into its fifth year, Boxerfest draws a horsepower-hungry crowd of up to 4,500 enthusiasts, primarily from surrounding Mid-Atlantic states. With almost 8,500 annual attendees, WBM is SubieEvents’ largest gathering. “Because of the size, we have so many vendors,” says SubieEvents event director Robert Champion. “It’s become the go-to event for anyone who’s looking for a part. We’ve had vendors come in with whole truckloads of parts and leave empty.”

Subiefest Midwest

Where: Route 66 Raceway, Joliet, Illinois

Some 2,600 people attended the inaugural Subiefest Midwest, which took place outside Chicago in 2018, and Champion expects the turnout to grow. “I did a tour of the region and saw the high quality and quantity of Subaru performance shops in the area,” he says. “I assumed there was a big Subaru community there, and that assumption turned out to be right.”

Big Northwest
When: August 4
Where: Portland International Raceway, Portland, Oregon

Since the first Big NW in 2011, the event has drawn a concentrated crowd of the Pacific Northwest region’s Subaru fanatics. “It’s a smaller event,” Champion says. “It has more of a family feel to it. Everyone seems to know one another. That even includes our volunteers – you can tell that they’re all friends.”

Rocky Mountain Subaru Festival
When: September
Where: Colorado

It’s hard to think about Colorado without thinking about ski resorts, and so it goes with the Rocky Mountain Subaru Festival, where ski resorts are prominent among the sponsors and exhibitors. “It has a strong lifestyle component,” says Champion. “Several ski resorts come out strong and really support the event and the brand.”

When: October 13
Where: Santa Anita Park, Arcadia, California

With more than 50 sponsors, Subiefest caters to high-performance enthusiasts. “Southern California is the automotive performance hub of the planet,” says Champion. “A lot of big performance manufacturers are guaranteed to be there. It’s nice for enthusiasts to be able to interface directly with performance brands. They send their technical staff, so it gives attendees a chance to geek out about the new aftermarket parts that are available.”
