“I love the Subaru community, especially the sense of family and friendships that are created. The club I’m in, RainCitySubies, partnered with Peninsula Subaru (in Bremerton, Washington) and raised over $1,000 for a local food bank, and literally stuffed the food bank’s van with food and water donations. We’ve also adopted a 2-mile stretch of highway that we clean up as a group once a month. My Subaru isn’t just a car – it’s a lifestyle.”

“My husband, Justin, and I have been part of Emerald Coast Subaru Club for seven years. Our group loves to host and attend charity events. My favorite is our annual Toys for Tots cruise and toy drive. Last year, in addition to toys, we brought nonperishables, clothes and supplies for people who lost everything during Hurricane Michael. We also had ‘Santa’ go to the effected area and personally distribute the toys to the children. I really enjoy meeting other enthusiasts and hearing their Subaru stories. I love what Subaru drivers bring to the table. Not only do they love their cars, but they also love to help the community. Our club’s cruises are really fun, too – I love the sound of the Subarus rumbling through town.”

“I run the Maryland Subaru Club. Last fall, we decided that we needed more events that didn’t involve sitting in a car park for hours. (Club member) Kyle Szoke and I bit the bullet and rented the Cecil County drag strip for a day. We had classed racing, a car show and an exhaust competition that focused on pushing these Subarus to the limit. The event ran for 10 hours and had a total of 305 people in attendance – racers and spectators. Local Subaru performance shops helped sponsor the event and sent their track cars out to showcase what these cars are capable of. Moving forward, this will be a yearly event. I love the community that Subaru has created. I’ve met so many people who are willing to drop what they’re doing to lend a hand or get together for food drives and help a community in need. Going to our club’s events, seeing what everyone’s done to their cars since we’ve last seen each other, and witnessing how this community interacts is great.”

“Local retailer Gillman Subaru North recently helped put together a Beach Cruise event for Space City Subies. Subaru enthusiasts cruised to the beach, where we hung out and got to know each other. It was exciting to see all the cars caravan down the freeway and fill up the beach lot. Seeing owners from different walks of life come together was awesome!”

“I’ve loved Subaru vehicles since before I was able to drive. Coming to WBM with all the other Subaru enthusiasts has always been the highlight of my year. Fellow Subaru lovers feel like family. The atmosphere of the event is chill, and the people are always fun and down to earth — it’s my favorite way to make friends and memories.”

“I love Subie events such as Subiefest Midwest and Wicked Big Meet because they bring such a large portion of the Subaru community together. The staff at these events are amazing – they listen to attendees and make improvements based on what we have to say. The Subaru community is like no other community out there – such diversity, with a feeling of family.”

“From Subaru meetups to car shows, we’ve grown from a handful of car enthusiasts to one big family. We decided to make an impact and use our platform for good by giving back to the community. In August, we teamed up with nonprofit Burrito Boyz to make and deliver 600-plus breakfast burritos, water, books and toiletries to the homeless in downtown San Diego. Using the proceeds from the Subie Social car show we hosted earlier this year, we were able to gift Burrito Boyz $1,000 to help keep the program running. North County Subies has partnered with the Burrito Boyz for the past four years to provide dignity, hot food and comfort to the homeless in San Diego. We look forward to many more years of continued support for this great organization.”
