Beginning with the 2015 model year, Subaru has periodically offered the BRZ in special edition colors. For the 2025 model year, get ready for a sixth: Series.Purple. This special edition of the BRZ will be finished in Galaxy Purple Pearl – a deep, striking hue that enhances the classic look of the two-door sports car.
Outside, there are a couple other indicators that the BRZ Series.Purple is a special edition: The 18-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels in a new satin silver finish set off the paint scheme, and the “Subaru” and “BRZ” badging on the rear decklid, finished in black, blend in seamlessly with the bold new metallic color.
The interior offers upgrades too. The standard performance-design front seats hold the driver and passenger in place with Ultrasuede®1 seating surfaces, showcasing gray leather bolsters and stitching exclusive to the Series.Purple. The gray stitching carries over to the leather-wrapped steering wheel, door panels, shift boot and parking brake boot.
Both the red start button and the gear shift knob are accented with the STI logo. You’ll notice crisp, direct shifts thanks to the STI short-throw shifter that most BRZ owners need to source from the Subaru Accessory catalog.
Under the hood, the standard STI Flexible V-Bar ties the front strut towers to the firewall, offering improved steering response, stability and handling without taking away from overall ride quality.
The Series.Purple uses the BRZ Limited as a starting point and, as a result, is equipped with grippy Michelin® Pilot® Sport 4 summer tires, heated exterior power mirrors, and an upgraded audio system with a 2-channel amplifier and two additional speakers.
Standard safety technology includes SUBARU EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology,2 which offers a suite of active safety systems like Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Keep Assist,3 Rear Cross-Traffic Alert3 and Steering Responsive Headlights to help provide better all-around awareness.
This special edition is priced between the BRZ Limited and the more track-focused4 BRZ tS at $35,445 MSRP,5 and like all BRZ models, the BRZ Series.Purple features the 2.4-liter naturally aspirated SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder engine, dishing out 228 horsepower. All of these cars are equipped with a six-speed manual transmission plus a Torsen® limited-slip differential – both an autocrosser’s dream.
The lengthy standard features list is rounded out with Keyless Access with Push-Button Start, LED high- and low-beam headlights with automatic height adjustment, Vehicle Stability Control with Track Mode and Sport Mode, dual-zone automatic climate control, Incline Start Assist, rear center console storage box with dual USB-A input/charge ports and an auxiliary input jack, variable intermittent windshield wipers with speed-sensing mist feature, and Welcome Lighting that illuminates the area surrounding the BRZ when the doors are unlocked.
In October of 2024, Subaru enthusiasts got their first look at the BRZ Series.Purple at Subiefest Texas. Watch for the BRZ Series.Purple and the entire 2025 BRZ model lineup at your Subaru retailer early this year.
What Are Other Subaru BRZ Special Editions?
