At Five Star Subaru of Grapevine, giving back to neighbors is more than a gesture; it’s a core principle that shapes how this Grapevine, Texas, retailer operates and connects with the world around it.

“We are dedicated to making Grapevine a better place for everyone, and we believe that our success is deeply intertwined with the well-being of our community,” says Tony Hooman, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine’s General Manager.

To recognize the retailer’s ongoing dedication to supporting their local community, Subaru of America, Inc. honored Five Star Subaru of Grapevine with the Subaru Love Promise Retailer of the Year Award for 2024. The award goes to the Subaru retailer who has shown significant commitment to their customers and their community throughout the year, exemplifying the Subaru Love Promise.

Since the retailer opened its doors in 2016, Hooman and his team have diligently focused on Subaru Love Promise initiatives under the guidance of Five Star Subaru of Grapevine owner Sam Pack. The retailer has donated more than $1.1 million to over 50 local and national charities over the last seven years, most notably partnering with Serving Our Seniors (SOS), a local organization that supports senior citizens living in northeast Tarrant County, Texas.

Since 2022, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine has helped SOS serve more than 65,000 seniors free of charge. Last year the retailer made a substantial donation of $142,000 to the organization, thanks to a generous matching contribution from Pack through the annual Subaru Share the Love® Event.

In addition, Five Star Subaru of Grapevine raised $80,000 in 2023 for Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange (GRACE), an organization that provides food, clothing and other vital necessities to the people of northeast Tarrant County.

“These partnerships are a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in our community, and they have significantly contributed to us being honored with the Retailer of the Year Award,” Hooman says.

On top of the retailer’s generous financial contributions, community engagement plays a large role in Five Star Subaru of Grapevine’s Retailer of the Year Award. The entire retailer team is committed to community service and actively participates in volunteer activities, community events, and initiatives that promote social responsibility.

“One initiative we are especially proud of is our annual Pet Adoption Day in conjunction with Operation Kindness®, a local no-kill shelter. Each year, the adoption event is a success and helps many animals find loving adoptive homes,” Hooman says.

“The students and teachers at Uplift Grand Preparatory School are also special to us as charitable partners,” he adds. “We donate school supplies, volunteer time, and subsidize teachers with financial assistance – and we make sure that the staff and children are taken care of year-round.”

According to Hooman, the retailer’s Love Promise initiatives highlight the collaborative spirit that defines Five Star Subaru of Grapevine.

“We consider it our responsibility and our privilege to make a difference in people’s lives, so being recognized as the Subaru Love Promise Retailer of the Year is an honor that we hold close to our hearts,” Hooman says. “While we may never achieve perfection, we can strive to be exceptional, and Subaru’s culture supports those efforts every day.”
